OM Hold by Username

Hi, I would like to ask if anybody had ever used a username to release an sales order hold from the order header. As per standard functionality, a specific responsibility is defined for each hold who could apply and release the hold. I have a requirement to use the username instead of a responsibility to avoid too many responsibilities maintained. Each hold requires one user to release and there are several holds to be used.

One thing I have in mind is a workflow customization. I'm getting some other inputs from those who have encountered this issue or has any ideas.
