UBE Run times vary widely for same UBE

For JD Edwards EnterpriseOne v9.1, Tools 9.1.2.3, Oracle 11g Standard Edition DB, All VM Ware servers running Windows Server 2008 R2, separate batch and interactive logic servers:

We are seeing the same UBE that rebuilds a custom table (system 55) in the Oracle Database will run one night in 4 hours, the next night in 20 hours and then back to 4 hours another night.  We don't see a database issue according to our very capable DBA.

We've investigated this since going live on 9.1 in June 2013.  I am looking for some ideas on how to troubleshoot this from the JDE kernel perspective.  Anyone else see these type of results.  What did you do to troubleshoot and address?
