restore to new host using rman backups - not finding autobackup much less the spfile

I have a vm that is running CentOS version 6.5 and Oracle 11.2.0.3 .     I have an initial snapshot right after Oracle was Installed and setup and then used the VM for awhile and made a clone.  I then took the rman backup files from the clone and moved the files to the original Oracle snapshot (placed them in the same location in the flash recovery area that they existed on the clone).   I still set the dbid even though it really essentially is the same database.   When I try to restore the spfile from autobackup, it cannot seem to
