Future Committed Orders Getting a Red X

We have future committed orders that will sometimes get a red X on the shipment.  I know that a red X can indicate an order that is on hold or an order that does not have enough inventory but that's not the case in this situation.

What we have found is when we have orders that are future dated and have been fulfilled in advance of the date, the shipment has no issue.  The order will be approved and advanced to 527-540 status.  The shipment will be advanced to status 25.  If, while the order is still future (defined as being 15 days in advance), a change is made to the sales order, the shipment will receive a red X.  In one example, the user updated the price on the sales order.
