LsInventorySession failed: Unable to create patchObject

Hi I'm looking at the Security Patches for Jan 2015 and opatch highlighted some conflicts.

I attempted to rollback one of the conflicting patches and now it says my inventory is corrupted.

Inventory load failed... OPatch cannot load inventory for the given Oracle Home.

LsInventorySession failed: Unable to create patchObject
Possible causes are:
   ORACLE_HOME/inventory/oneoffs/12942119 is corrupted
No read permission to above directory
Please remove one-off entry [ 12942119 ] from /inventory/ContentsXML/comps.xml and retry if above directory corrupted, or Please check the contents of the directory ORACLE_HOME/inventory/oneoffs/12942119 for read permission

OPatch failed with error code 73

Is it acceptable to edit the comps.xml file? I should add that this is for a clone of production and I am on Solaris Sparc 64 and rdbms 11.2.0.3.
