Upgrade of recovery catalog to 11.2.0.4

Hello,

My system is hosting one recovery catalog database where I have registered 2 databases. Both databases have been upgaded to 11.2.0.4

(from 11.1.0.7) so my question is what is the approach should I follow  regarding Recovery Catalog Database?

Is it necessary that I upgrade both schema and Database? Would it work if I do not perform any upgrade but I am just removing and recreating the catalog and then re-registering the target DBs beneath?
