Integration between Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM) and AP

I am looking for Data model in Integration between Supplier Lifecycle Management (SLM).

Is it different from AP_SUPPLIERS ? How does the integration work ? Normally Prospective suppliers are handeled thru teh SLM but do they have a supplier number associated from AP ? Do we have a good metalink whitepaper on this?
