OpenUI Search Feature does not hourglass

From the All Accounts list applet, if I enter part of an Account's name (say, "Curry E*") in the new Search field and press Enter, Siebel does not hourglass and the query takes about 15 seconds to return.  Please see attached screenshot.

Can anyone tell me how to configure Siebel to hourglass when the new search fields are used?
