Cant enter Project Task on PO or Requisition lines

Folks .... Project-Task field is greyed out on PO/Req distribution lines. Projects suite is installed. I can enter project task when i dont use inventory item and just buy on description.

Inv Org is projects enabled. Any idea why this is happening ? Am i missing any setup or profile options ?
