extremely high CPU que

edited Feb 9, 2015 10:01AM in Database Tuning (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered

We sometimes experience extremely high CPU proces queue (vmstat, nmon). We use Oracle 11.2.0.1 standard on AIX system with 24 thread CPU. The average CPU queue is about 7-14, while sometimes it suddenly (within a minute) becomes > 100 and rises. The only way to stop that seems to restart Oracle. After restarting it behaves properly, till next time. We experience such a problem 1-2 times a month.

The chart below contains CPU queue. The sipeks are because of restart of Oracle, otherwise it seems to never drop.

Howdy, Stranger!
