Problems With Using Application Express

Long story: We started with htmldb 1.8, then went to apex 3.2 then upgraded to apex 4.0 to finally arrive to apex 4.2 on a Linux box with RedHat 5 connecting to 11GR2 and using the apache http way.

This is the situation: After working on a test environment and after wanting to flashback the database to last Friday and after getting errors because archive files were missing and trying a few things I've learned in dealing with this issue.

Anyway, after all that I thought heck rather than dealing with this issue of the archive file I just delete the database and start with a new one. After all it was test and I can get everything from production. The first time I've tried this approach though.
