WEBADI Customisations - Dynamic population of a field in the Web adi spreadsheet at runtime

I have a requirement to have 3 fields like currency, currency conversion date and conversion rate on my custom web adi template. As soon as the user populates the currency and selects the conversion date , the corresponding conversion rate so defined in the gl_daily_rates should be fetched on the basis of the currency and conversion date and displayed in the spreadsheet (dynamic population of rate should happen at run time) . Please let me know if it is feasible to implement such a thing in web adi? I am currently working on R12.
