LDOM 3 - Unable to use console to install OS

edited Feb 5, 2015 11:15AM in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered ✓

Hello all,

We are facing a strange issue while booting from "cdrom" a ldom.

Due to a zpool corruption, we created a temporary ldom and assigned the affected disks to this pool including the iso files.

ldm ls to check the vtns port.

telnet 0 port for tmp domain

now here is where things get "interesting"

we can type without any problem on OBP prompt, but once the OS is lodaded and we get the shell prompt (boot cdrom -s) or language selection (boot cdrom), we cannot type anything into it.

If a second person tries to connect to the same session, we get what we expect, telnet tells that the session is locked by another user.

Howdy, Stranger!
