RPAS 13.0.4.35 compatibility to Windows 8.1

We are migrating from windows XP (32 bit) to windows 8.1 (64bit). We are currently on RPAS 13.0.4.35 and using the classic client. While testing on PC with Windows 8.1, I tried to login through RPAS client, but I keep getting "timeout while reading from tcp/ip stream" error. As RPAS 13.0.4.35 is a very old version, installation guide says it is compatible upto Windows XP.  So is RPAS client 13.0.4.35 NOT compatible to Windows 8.1 and we are getting the error because of that?
