What is the difference between Activity Master and Activity detail tables?

Hi

I need to build a custom report to report for activities stored in the Foundation Calendar

I reached F01301 Activity Master and F01301D Activity Detail

I see that they have almost the same data repeated, and we have the same number of records in both tables, so just one activity detail for each activity master, in which cases can I have several detail records for just one activity master?

I need to know this in order to design my report properly

I see that there is an additional key in the F01301D INSTID

Any help appreciated
