In order to increase RAC server processing power, plan to replace current 16 core Linux server to 32 cores.

The standard procedure is to add 2 servers into current cluster, add 2 RAC nodes, then delete 2 old nodes and remove 2 old server from cluster. This procedure is complicate, looking for any simple procedure for this operation. We tried to clone server and keep original server IPs, got error to start cluster daemon from new server.

Please share your experience for such operation.

Thanks,

George
