What are the "Best Practices" for doing a 'reorg while active' in E1 on the iSeries?

I don't think I have ever come across a "Best Practices" document on performing a 'reorganize physical file while active'. I have read the IBM manuals on this and heard advice over the years. But I am curious if such a document exists. Or is this strictly an IBM issue?
