Can complex customer groups be used on an Order Level Adjustment in advanced pricing?

Can I use a complex customer group (e.g. defining the customer group using cat codes) on an order level adjustment?  I can't get a all items/customer group adjustment to work unless I use a customer group value that's defined on the customer master (CPGP).
