Hide inactive entities in a grid or form

Hello,

I have enabled Org by Period in my application.

When selecting entities to include in a grid or a form, I can correctly filter and hide inactive entities, however when the data is displayed in a form (I have selected children of a particular parent) the inactive entity still appears.  Is there a way to hide/suppress these inactive entities on a form or a grid.
