Demantra workflow runs, even after schedule is modified to remove a scheduled run

We have experienced the following issue in 7.3.0.2 as well as 12.2.3, where we recently went live in production.

When we have workflows which have a schedule associated with them, and we decide we want to modify the schedule, it appears the workflows will sometimes run at undesired times, even if modified to remove that time. For example, today is Wednesday. For sake of example, let's say we have a workflow which is currently scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:00 PM. If we decide we must remove Wednesday from that list, we go into the workflow schedule, change the existing schedule to remove Wednesday, save the changes and close the workflow schedule.
