Possible to Change Costing Method for Item Master Organization

As part of our implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite, we first implemented Direct Ship functionality.  For our Direct Ship business, we utilize Average Costing.  Our system integrator set the Costing Method for the item master organization to be Average as well.

We are now in the process of implementing processing for our Distribution Centers which are standard cost based, and the standard cost is the same across all of our US and Mexico distribution centers.  We would like to utilize shared costs, but because the item master organization has been set to Average, this cannot be done (as far as we know).
