The effect of keeping G/L Date as Execute date during sales update??

Hello Everyone,

Currently our business is using the G/L date as sales invoice date by keeping the value as 1 in the processing option  because of which

the orders of previous month which is having previous month ship to date is not picking up by the scheduler but when I am

setting the G/L date as execute date by setting the value as 3, I am able to do the sales update of the previous month orders

so my concern is what would be the effect of this if I am setting the value as 3 in finance and distribution side
