How can we create a custom mobile app which uses EBS REST services in the backend?

Oracle Support Document 1642431.1 (Oracle E-Business Suite Mobile Apps Administrator's Guide for Release 12.1 and Release 12.2) can be found at: https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocumentDisplay?id=1642431.1. It explains how to enable the mobile apps shipped with EBS. The mobile apps shipped with EBS use REST services. Can we use the same REST services to create a custom mobile app which uses EBS in the backend? Are there any samples?
