Trying to understand using Local Disks for LDom / GDom creation: System Space and swap
A bit of Background:
-- Oracle Ops Center: 12.2.1
-- Oracle Solaris 11.2
-- Using T4-2, currently w/4 internal 300GB HD's;
-- 2 Internal HD's are core Control Domain devices; One for the system, the other a ZFS Mirror;
-- Leaving 2 unoccupied drives;
---------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 2 separate concepts being asked of us:
1) divide each 300Gb drive in half, allowing for 4 Guest Domains to be created with 150Gb each;
2) IFF Guest Domains go on SAN, place SWAP on local drives for performance;
I have seen another Ops Center configuration using a a different Associated Local Library other than "file:///guests"
it used a "dev://SomeNameHere" under "Type: Local Devices" ...and that and that then pointed to a Local Disk below, not a whole disk either, as it was just 40GB
