Oracle 12C Container Database Pluggable Database

Hello.  I'm currently learning about Oracle 12C and the multitenant container/pluggable database concept and have a have the following question:

In an Oracle 12C (Oracle release 12.0.1.2 for example) container database can one of its' pluggable databases be a lower Oracle release than Oracle 12C.  For example, can I have an Oracle release 11.2.0.3 or Oracle 11.2.0.4 database as a pluggable database in an Oracle 12C container database?  Thanks for your help.
