concern for potential risk when run relink (oracle 11.2.0.4) on AIX platform
Dear all:
Our os platform is IBM AIX Power system (64 bit), OS level 6.1.0.0 (6100-08-00-0000). DB is oracle 11.2.0.4. I'm not sure if it is enterprise or standard edition. Anyway, we upgraded oracle 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4 and plan to run 'relink all' after upgrade.
The concern is any non-ignorable error or risk like 'not able to shutdown oracle database' after run relink?
Because we find 2 notes discussing the known issues for AIX relink: note 402945.1, note 1379753.1. In note 1379753.1, one error was
reported: ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel when shutdown database; it is caused by error " ld: 0711-780 SEVERE
ERROR: Symbol .ksmpfpva".
note 1379753.1 gives solution is to apply the following AIX fix:
