Can the BI Publisher API interface with the Delivery Manager API's?

I have a BIP Scheudler API that currently depends on either Delivery Channels being set up based on parameter setup or turning on the bursting option to allow bursing options in the data  mode to deliver content.

I was asked if the Delivery Manager API's could interface with the BIP Scheduler to deliver content.  I've tested the various Delivery Manager API's but I don't see how they would interface.  Since I'm  not a real expert on BIP I thought I would ask the experts.
