Upgrading Windows OS for Oracle Database 10.2.0.4

Hi All,

Windows 2003

Oracle Database 10.2.0.4

Since Windows 2003 is coming to end of life support, we are phasing it out in our company over the next couple months.

I am looking to create a new server, running Windows 2008 64-bit, then backing up and restoring the Oracle database to this server, running the same version of Oracle database.

However, on my new server, when I try to run the installer, I get the following message:

Checking operating system version: must be 5.1 or 5.2. Actual 6.0 Failed

I've read that I need to install 10.2.0.1 then upgrade to 10.2.0.4 but I can't even get past the first step. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?
