Reg: Siebel upgrade from 8.1.1.2 to 8.1.1.14

Hi Friends,


We have a present setup of 8.1.1.2 on Windows 2008 32-bit servers and planning to upgrade to 8.1.1.14. As per the Oracle docs, IP 2014 (8.1.1.14) needs Win2008 64-bit OS. And there is no option to just upgrade the 32-bit OS to 64-bit OS but only as a fresh OS installation. So, We need to do a fresh installation of IP 2014+Patchset3 now. please validate my below approach and correct me if needed:

  1. Do fresh installation of IP 2014+Patchset3 on new Win2008 64-bit servers using existing Siebel Database
  2. Configure the Siebel Enterprise+Gtwy+Siebel App Server+SWSE
  3. Do not perform 'Install database' step as there is an existing Database
