CRM Desktop SSO Implementations

Hi

We had a couple of questions with regards to implementation of CRM Desktop SSO. Our Siebel FINS 8.1.1.11 implementation is on IIS with Windows Integrated Authetication. We have Siebel Open UI Object Manager being used by the end users on Google Chrome; they type in the Application URL in Chrome, and since SSO is setup on internet Explorer settimgs, they are automatically logged in.

In such a scenario, if these users are going to use CRM Desktop, how is the SSO implementation helpful. Even now, if I choose the Direct Authentication option and choose 'Save Password', subsequent synchs even for many days, happen automatically and do not ask for my credentails again. Would SSO be something above the same.
