Selecting Item instance of a related party in contract

Hi,

We are on E-Biz suite 11.5.10.2.

When creating a service /warranty contract, user wants to select customer A on contract, but wants to select item instance owned by a related party customer B.

What relationship is needed to make this work.

Party relationship or account relationship.

I have seen that it works with only account relationship, but need confirmation.
