Serial Redirection using Sun System Firmware 8.3.10.a on SPARC T3-1

Using SPARC T3-1 using Oracle Solaris (64-bit)

Yesterday, I upgraded the Firmware to  "Patch 151689-01: FIRMWARE: SPARC T3-1 - Sun System Firmware 8.3.10"

And subsequently, today to  "Patch 151689-02: FIRMWARE: SPARC T3-1 - Sun System Firmware 8.3.10.a" (released this morning) to attempt to fix yesterdays problem

Since the firmware upgrade, serial redirection is faulty when using the ILOM web interface:

Using the ILOM, and select the "use serial redirection". I get the following error:

    (Connection with SP is down, please try redirection later.)

or

   (An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host)

The "use video redirection" works.

If I SSH to the ILOM, and enter:
