Automated Splitting of Assets during Mass Additions Process

Has anyone ever been able to split assets automatically during the Mass Additions process? The client would like to reduce the manual work associated with this effort. Different Asset Categories may require a split or non-split automation procedure.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
