Can we drop 1 disk from external diskgroup

Hi all,

I have a question.

I have the diskgroup DATA, external redundancy, with 10 disks, size od diskgroup 10TB, just used 7,5TB.

Now, can I drop 1 disk from external diskgroup DATA for another purpose?

Because as I know, the external redundancy do not mirror the data, just strip the data. Drop 1 disk from external diskgroup is it danger?
