Employee Termination Workflow. Can it be modified to bypass the HR Approval? We only want a terminat

We would like to setup Employee Termination Workflow to send a message to a group of people. We do not want the employee termination to be put in a status that needs to be approved before the termination is completed. Is this possible? Has anyone done this successfully before?
