How to delete Transactional data from R12

Dear All,

I would like to delete the transactional data for the year 2014 (JAN-JUN) 6 months data and want to start the fresh year from JAN-2015 as per finance department.

Is it recommended to do this..???

Which tables shall i delete the data..??

Will the customization will effect..??

Please advice..
