Excel to Siebel base table

I have one requirement, in which I am going to get one excel sheet which will contain 2 fields of asset, based on the first field(it is not row_id) i need to update second field in the siebel base table.It can we done by writing a business service , but I need to do it using sqlserver.

Has anyone worked on such requirement ,how to transfer data from excel to sql then from sql to update data in siebel base table.
