Backup strategy for WCC 11.1.1.8

We are upgrading to WCC 11.1.1.8.0 from our current UCM 10R3 environment and we are going from storing documents in the filesystem to storing them in the database.

In our current environment we must have our database (Oracle 11.2) backup done at (or recovered to) the same time as backing up our filesystem and the application server to ensure consistency between them if we use them for recovery.  We are hoping to simplifiy the backup requirements in our new environment since the documents are now stored in the database.  Can someone explain what would be needed for a backup of this environment.  We were hoping to be able to do a backup of the application server only once (or if any components change) then do our regular hot
