RDBPROD: Create new SQL Services Log Files

edited Mar 12, 2015 10:02AM in Rdb on OpenVMS, IBM zSeries and Oracle on OpenVMS (MOSC) 4 commentsAnswered

Hi,

is there a way other than restarting SQL Services to create a new SQL Services Log File ? Our SQL Services are running for a long time, and the log file keeps growing. We don't really want to take down the server, but we would like to have more managable ( and searchable ) log files. The current one is over 1.000.000 blocks in size and is hard to be read in an editor. The RMU Monitor has the reopen_log qualifier. Is there s.th. similar for SQL Services ?

Regards,

Bernado
