PPS Install Advisory – Patch Set 4 and Norton

Hi All,

 

 

Posting this to hopefully spare you a headache.  Think we had this issue with PS 3 but for PS 4 you may have issues creating your network image if your computer runs Norton.  Several dlls such as sscffc.dll and sscfui.dll get flagged by Norton as threats.

 

As a result of this OPatch will fail and report errors on these DLLS.

 

Workaround is easy enough. For us we just created the image on server that was not running Norton like our PC’s are.

 

Happen to be in Pleasanton and in the same room as several Oracle Support Engineers.
