Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. World A9.3 - F9831 and F98310

I've seen another discussion about this but I'm still confused.

Previous to A9.3, values for *VALUE selections were stored in F9831. It had space for 45 selections and limited you to that many selections.

In A9.3, JDE added the F98310 with a longer selection field and individual records for each value selected.

The other discussion mentioned that the F9831 is not replaced but either may be used.

My questions are:

First, how does the program know which file to look at? I have some custom programs that update the values so I don't know which one to use.
Does this new file allow for more than 45 selections? Is there an upper limit?
