Concurrent MRP runs for the same B/P

To run concurrent MRP versions for the same B/P the data selection has to be totally separated between the versions. Does this also mean that you can't share any items in the BOMs?

We have manufactured items that share some components in their respective BOM. Is it then possible to run concurrent versions of MRP?
