Do i need to connect to the catalog where the tape was backed up??

Hi,

We need to transfer a couple of terabyte-size database from one site to another. The tape will be transferred to the destination site and tape data will be imported to the Veritas Netbackup library.

it's an 11.2.0.2 Database, and we use catalog to backup the database to tape.

Now that we need to restore the contents of the tape into a new server, do i need to copy the catalog schema that is used to backup the database? or i can just connect to NOCATALOG option.

please advise, thanks
