On a test system which is not recovering white space, we have discovered that the zfs file systems were created before the Solaris 10 Sparc server had the 150400-16 patch installed and activated via the addition of the /etc/system entries and a reboot of the server.

Does the addition and activation of the 150400-16 patch apply only to new zfs file system which are created after the activation of the patch?

We have seen similar behavior on systems where we were testing alternative ashift values, and those values only applied to new zfs file systems created after the changes were made to the server.
