Deployment of EPM 11.1.2.4 in Windows Server on a virtual machine

We plan to deploy the latest EPM system (version 11.1.2.4) in a Windows Server, that runs on a virtual machine. I read the certification matrix from the following document.

  1. It says that EPM 11.1.2.4 is supported on "Windows Server 2012 R2" and "Windows Server 2012 includes certification for MS Hyper-V". Does the certification for MS Hyper-V applies to "R2" version of "Windows Server 2012" as well?
  2. The certification matrix does not mention the compatibility with WVMWare. Does anybody have experience in testing the EPM system that runs on VMWare?
