Required MTU Size for an Exadata Machine

Hi All,

In a recent issue I handled there was a problem in data transfer speed through IB Interface between two exadata boxes.

The speed was about 2gbps where IB Supports upto 40gbps.

In a MOS Note to set Huge Pages for Exadata it has been advised that user should set MTU to 7000 but in the above mentioned issue the MTU size of 7000 was the only issue.

When he changed the MTU size to 64k the speed between IB Interfaces increased drastically?

So my question is what should be the exact MTU value and how can we calculate the recommended MTU size for Exadata Machine ?
