Problems connecting to Oracle R11i related to Java/ Jinit

According to Oracle note 285218.1 Recommended Browsers for Oracle R11i, the following is supported for Firefox 17.x:

JRE 1.6.0_10 and higher

JRE 1.7.0_10 and higher

- I have installed: Java 6 Update 45 and Java 6 Update 7, and JDK 6 update 7 (no x64).

- I have currently disabled jre 6 update 7, and rebooted my PC.

- I have installed Firefox 17 in a separate directory under c:\Program Files x86\Mozilla Firefox\V17. I have created a"plugins" directory within the

FF installation folder, and copied the file "NPInit13121.dll" into the folder.

- I have copied the jvm.dll from the Java folder for 6 update 45 into C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\JInitiator 1.3.1.21\bin\hotspot
