Back up the Shared Services Registry database

Hello,

I am new to the EPM installation and I am planning to upgrade the EPM 11.1.2.1 to EPM 11.1.2.3 and per the documentation it says I need to "Back up the Shared Services Registry database". Could someone  assist me how can I take the backup of the Shared Services Registry database? Is that the schema backup on the Database?
