What is best practice in applying ODA bundle patch in a data guard environment? Disable DG and apply

What is best practice in applying ODA bundle patch in a data guard environment? Disable DG and apply patch OR apply INFRA and GI on both Primary and Standby and then apply the RDMS patch to the Primary and Standby? I want the least risky method because the last time the system was patched one of the ODAs experienced disk issues and all DBs were unavailable.
