how to create a program to attach invoice pdf files placed in server to respective invoices?

Hi,

How  to create a concurrent program that attaches invoices pdf files or any type of format files placed in the server to the respective invoices using interfaces and conversions.After attaching the files to invoices,the directory should be purged.

What is the api to use and how to proceed with this step by step?
